This role sits at the intersection of project leadership, commercial strategy, client engagement and executive-level reporting, offering rare visibility across both German and wider European operations.
The Opportunity – Commercial Lead (Frankfurt)
You will act as the senior commercial authority on a high-value digital infrastructure project in Frankfurt, taking full ownership of commercial outcomes, strategy and governance.
This is more than a project commercial role — it carries responsibility for influencing commercial frameworks, procurement direction, margin strategy, risk mechanisms, and future commercial structures as European workloads increase.
Your remit includes:
Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the commercial strategy for a flagship data centre / mission-critical development.

Advise the Project Director and European Commercial Director on all commercial, financial and contractual matters.

Set the commercial reporting framework and drive transparency in forecasting, risk, procurement and financial performance.
Commercial & Financial Governance
-
Lead CVR preparation, budgeting, cash flow management and accurate forecasting on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Drive commercial risk management initiatives, ensuring early identification, mitigation and escalation of risk exposure.

Oversee the commercial integrity of the project lifecycle — from preconstruction through delivery to final account.
Procurement & Supply Chain Strategy

Lead procurement strategies for complex, highly technical packages.

Negotiate high-value subcontracts in a competitive and fast-moving market.

Shape supply chain partnerships across Europe in alignment with long-term digital infrastructure growth.
Contract & Claims Management

Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, notices, variations, claims and change control procedures.

Lead commercial negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors, ensuring commercially advantageous outcomes.
Team Leadership & Development

Mentor and build capability within the commercial team, setting standards of excellence.

Support future recruitment and team structuring as European growth accelerates.

Required Experience

Senior-level commercial management within a main contracting environment.

Experience in data centres, mission critical, digital infrastructure, life sciences or high-tech buildings is highly advantageous.

Strong command of cost control, procurement, forecasting, commercial governance and contract administration.

Deep understanding of contractual frameworks and claims processes.

Leadership capability in mentoring commercial teams and influencing board-level stakeholders.

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Economics.
