Their London operations support a significant pipeline of nationally important programmes where long-term commercial oversight, risk management and stakeholder alignment are essential.
Their nuclear portfolio comprises high-security, highly regulated and technically advanced environments, requiring exceptional attention to cost assurance, commercial strategy, contract administration and risk mitigation across multi-year, multi-stakeholder frameworks.
The Opportunity
The contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to take a key leadership role within its London-based infrastructure division, supporting major nuclear projects and frameworks across the UK. This opportunity is suited to a commercially strong, detail-driven professional who thrives in complex, regulated delivery environments and is comfortable leading commercial strategy, governance and performance across multi-disciplinary teams.
You will work closely with programme leadership, commercial directors, client representatives and delivery partners, ensuring commercial outcomes are robust, compliant and aligned to contractual obligations and long-term programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Lead commercial management, governance and reporting across major nuclear infrastructure projects and frameworks.

Develop and implement commercial strategies, forecasts, risk registers and cost controls aligned with programme requirements.

Oversee contract administration, change management, compensation events, valuations and payment processes.

Provide commercial assurance, risk analysis and performance reporting to senior management and client stakeholders.

Lead commercial negotiation, dispute resolution and stakeholder engagement across complex workstreams.

Manage and mentor commercial teams to ensure consistent standards, compliance and high-quality output.

Support procurement activities, subcontractor management, cost benchmarking and value optimisation initiatives.

Ensure adherence to regulatory, security and commercial governance frameworks within nuclear and defence environments.
Required Experience & Background
-
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS within a major contractor or tier-one delivery environment.

Strong background in nuclear, defence, regulated infrastructure, energy or similarly complex technical sectors.

Deep understanding of NEC contracts, commercial governance, risk management and change control.

Demonstrable experience leading multi-disciplinary commercial teams on large, long-term programmes.

Confident operating within highly regulated, secure and multi-stakeholder settings.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related field; MRICS or equivalent advantageous.

Exceptional analytical, contractual and negotiation capability.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and engage clients at all levels.

Strong leadership capability with a focus on mentoring, team development and consistent commercial performance.

High attention to detail, strong judgement and the ability to operate within complex governance structures.
