What They Are Looking For
They are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to take full ownership of the commercial function on a flagship mission critical / data centre project in Frankfurt. You will act as the senior commercial authority on the project, partnering closely with the Project Director and European Commercial Director on all commercial, financial and contractual matters.
Day to day, you will set and manage the commercial strategy, lead CVRs and forecasting, drive risk and change management, and oversee procurement of complex, high-value work packages. You will be the key point of escalation for commercial issues, ensuring margin protection, contractual compliance and commercial clarity throughout delivery.
This position is designed for a senior commercial professional who wants to step beyond traditional project QS responsibilities and play a pivotal role in shaping future commercial frameworks, systems and governance as the European portfolio continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the commercial strategy for a major digital infrastructure / mission critical project in Frankfurt.

Advise the Project Director and European Commercial Director on all commercial, financial and contractual matters.

Set and manage the commercial reporting framework, including CVRs, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

Lead commercial risk management initiatives, ensuring early identification, mitigation and escalation of commercial risks.

Oversee procurement strategies for complex, high-value packages and lead negotiations with key subcontractors and suppliers.

Ensure full compliance with all contractual obligations, notices, variations, claims and change control procedures.

Lead commercial negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors to secure commercially advantageous outcomes.

Mentor and develop the commercial team, setting high standards of delivery, accuracy and governance.

Support future recruitment and team structuring as the European portfolio and commercial function continue to scale.
Background & Experience
-
Senior-level commercial management experience within a main contracting environment.

Strong track record managing the commercial function on high-value building or infrastructure projects.

Experience in data centres, mission critical, digital infrastructure, life sciences or high-tech building projects is highly advantageous.

Deep understanding of cost control, procurement, forecasting, commercial governance and contract administration.

Proven experience managing variations, claims and dispute avoidance / resolution processes.

Demonstrated leadership capability in mentoring commercial teams and influencing senior stakeholders.

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
