Their European portfolio includes large-scale, highly serviced, multi-phase data centre campuses, often ranging from €300m to €1bn+ in total development value. These programmes incorporate significant mechanical and electrical infrastructure, rapid deployment models, and technically intensive delivery requirements where commercial assurance, cost governance and proactive risk management are critical.
The Opportunity
Due to sustained growth and forward workload, the consultancy is seeking a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their London team while supporting the commercial delivery of flagship data centre developments across Mainland Europe. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, global clients and multidisciplinary delivery teams, taking ownership of major MEP workstreams from early cost planning through procurement, delivery, change management and final account.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of MEP packages across major European data centre projects.

Prepare detailed mechanical and electrical cost plans, benchmarks and value-engineering proposals.

Develop procurement strategies, produce tender documentation and manage bid evaluation and negotiation.

Oversee payment applications, variations, change control processes and monthly cost reporting.

Provide commercial governance, risk identification and financial forecasting to internal and external stakeholders.

Support the implementation of commercial assurance frameworks across multi-phase programmes.

Act as a trusted commercial advisor to hyperscale clients, offering cost intelligence and strategic insights.
Required Experience & Background
-
Proven background as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or strong QS ready to step into a senior remit.

Demonstrable experience in MEP cost management, ideally within a consultancy environment.

Experience working on highly serviced, complex environments such as data centres, life sciences, industrial or mission-critical facilities.

Strong pre- and post-contract management capability.

Comfortable operating in technically demanding, multi-stakeholder settings.

Willingness to travel to European project locations on a periodic basis.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar; MRICS or progress toward chartership beneficial.

Strong analytical, commercial and financial modelling skills.

Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.

High attention to detail and strong contractual and commercial awareness.
