About Our Client

Our client is one of Australia’s most recognised independent Quantity Surveying and Advisory firms, renowned for delivering rigorous cost management, strategic commercial advice, and high-value reporting for major private and government stakeholders. With a strong market presence and a long history of industry expertise, they have built a reputation for accuracy, innovation and trusted advisory across the full project lifecycle.

This is a business defined by collaboration, technical integrity and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Their teams are known for partnering closely with clients from concept stage through to delivery, ensuring projects are commercially robust, well-controlled and aligned with long-term value outcomes.

Operating across multiple sectors—including health, advanced technology, commercial, residential, institutional, and major social infrastructure—this organisation offers exposure to some of the most unique and complex developments in Australia.

What They Are Looking For

Due to sustained demand across their NSW portfolio, there is now an opportunity for an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong pre and post contract capability to join their high-performing Sydney team. You will work alongside respected industry leaders, contribute to strategic client advisory, and play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of diverse major projects.

This role suits a commercially astute QS who enjoys technical depth, client engagement, and navigating the complexities of modern built-form assets—including hospitals, aged care facilities, high-density residential schemes and fast-growing data centre environments. Your work will directly influence project outcomes, client decisions and broader commercial strategy.

Why This Role Is Unique

This is a senior position within a prestigious consultancy where you gain real influence—shaping project cost strategies, guiding clients through high-value decisions, and enhancing the performance of landmark projects. You will have clear visibility of your career pathway, supported by a leadership team that values development, industry accreditation and long-term progression. For the right individual, this role offers genuine scope to advance into Associate and broader leadership roles within a respected national business.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate cost planning, cost modelling and feasibility inputs across early project stages.

  • Lead tendering, benchmarking, procurement analysis and contract documentation.

  • Provide robust pre-contract advice including risk assessments, value engineering and cost-benefit analysis.

  • Manage post-contract functions including progress valuations, variations assessment, financial reporting and cashflow monitoring.

  • Interface directly with clients, consultants and contractors at all project stages.

  • Prepare detailed cost reports and maintain all cost data for project governance.

  • Negotiate and settle final accounts.

  • Uphold the company’s standards of accuracy, integrity and high-quality client service.

Candidate Criteria

  • Proven experience delivering high-quality QS services across pre and post contract stages.

  • Strong background within sectors such as health, residential, aged care, commercial, education or data centre projects.

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.

  • Professional membership such as AIQS or RICS, or working towards it.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strong technical accuracy.

  • Proficiency with digital QS tools, such as CostX, and modern cost management methodology.

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to interface with senior stakeholders.

What’s on Offer

This role offers a highly competitive salary package within the $140,000 – $180,000 range, depending on experience, along with performance-based incentives. You will join a respected consultancy offering structured career development, strong mentoring, work-life balance initiatives and the opportunity to work across a varied and impactful project portfolio.

You will have the platform to elevate your presence in the NSW market, supported by a progressive leadership team that invests heavily in training, accreditation and long-term professional growth.
